The Stuffed Animal Project

We’re super excited to partner with the St. Johns County Public Library for another Stuffed Animal Project Saturday! The Stuffed Animal Project focuses on teaching the children in our community how much fun it is to “adopt” lost toys. Our goal is to share that homeless dogs, like lost toys, are just as deserving of homes as a brand new toy or a dog purchased from a breeder. If your family isn’t quite ready to welcome a new four legged family member, please check out our adoptable stuffed Swampies at the Southeast branch of the St. Johns County Library on August 11th at 10AM!

Registration is required for this free program. Please call 904-827-6900 or register online

Pet CPR and First Aid Class – Swamp Haven Fundraiser

Are you prepared to be your pet’s first responder? When humans have a medical emergency, we can call 911 and help comes to us. We do not have that same service available for our pets, so we must know how to react quickly in order to stabilize our pet until veterinary help is available. When every second counts, that is not the time to turn to YouTube and hope that what we are watching is even accurate. In this pet CPR and first aid class, you will learn how to calmly and confidently handle any pet emergency (choking, bleeding, heat stroke, seizures, etc.). Each student receives a booklet of the information covered and a certificate suitable for framing.

***$25 will be donated to Swamp Haven for each student in attendance.***

‘Unadoptable’ NE Florida dog becomes BADASS drug dectection agent in Washington

When the volunteers at a Florida animal rescue learned about a deaf young dog that was deemed “unadoptable” by workers at a shelter where the stray pup had been dumped, of course they made room for the little guy.

“Gator” became part of Swamp Haven, an animal rescue organization that takes “down-on-their-luck” dogs at risk of being euthanized primarily in Northeast Florida.

Read Gator’s story here!
He is a true BADASS.

Please join us for great Irish food and drinks (yes Dan Murphy’s Irish Pub has a full bar!) with Swamp Haven’s adoptable pups and a silent auction with all proceeds going towards saving more hounds and pit bulls from our local shelters! Dan Murphy’s is hosting this event at their A1A S St Augustine Beach location. Stop in to eat, drink, be merry AND Christmas shop all at the same time! We have many great silent auction items from local St. Augustine businesses that anyone would love to receive as a holiday gift!

We all love our animals, however, please leave your fur babies at home so our adoptable Swampie’s get all the love and attention out on the patio. Can’t wait to see you there!
